Rejoice! The summer is officially here and so is wedding season, so for all of those who are making the most of our clement climate here is our mini-guide on making the most of tying the knot alfresco!
Summer Foods:
Bored of chicken, salmon and the standard (but so often tasty) Wedding Breakfast, well embrace the summer by indulging in picnic and BBQ foods to add a touch of variety and selection (not much affordability) to your wedding meal! Here are some of our favourite summer buffet nibbles:
1.Sausage Rolls – It gets a bad reputation for being a bit bland and the first choice of long distance lorry drivers but this trusty pork savoury is making a comeback thanks to gastro-pubs. Homemade sausage rolls can be treat and can be flavoured exactly how you like, plus you can make them as big or as small as you’d like, meaning a little can go a long way.
2.Pies – Pork, chicken, beef, lamb, cheese, veg, fish… the combination are nigh on endless and all are encased in a thick layer of pastry, sometimes with pickles, chutneys, more meat or veg.. the simple treat of a home-made pork pie with some piccalilli, you can’t go wrong!
3.Scotch Eggs – What is not to like? Sausage and Egg wrapped in breadcrumbs, with some wonderful seasoning, absolute heaven!
4.Finger Sandwiches – Like pies, the beauty of a svelte finger sandwich is the potential combinations you can have as a filling, humble cucumber, cold roast beef, creamy egg mayo, the world is your oyster when it comes to the filling, plus you can have your pick of lovely bread from the bakery.
5.Quiche – No summer buffet would be complete without the king of picnic food, the quiche! Few foods combine, egg, cheese, ham, tomatoes, vegetables and pastry so well and also in such a presentable way, no one looks out of place munching on a delicate slice of quiche and another great food which can go a long way!
