My children measure my love for wedding cakes by the fact that there are more pictures of cakes on my phone than there are of them. If I ever bumped into an old acquaintance and needed to show my children off at short notice then, no can do! Instead they would have to listen to details of my latest wedding cake; there would be no immediate evidence of anything else in my life!
My name is Jenny Budzynski also known to my clients as Miss Ingredient. I own and run Miss Ingredient Cake Company, my fifth child, my much-adored precious business.
Cake got under my skin when I trained professionally after I left school many moons ago. All through my training and the years that have followed I favoured baking out of all the kitchen disciplines and that is where I gradually discovered the wonderful world of wedding cakes.
I now cater almost exclusively for weddings and love all the paraphernalia that goes with them. I love the details and communication and who could fail to have their heart melted by all the ensuing romance and love that the Big Day whips up.
Cake is good, cake is love, cake is precious. It must, most essentially, taste as good as it looks and knock the socks off the crowd. It should be the crowning glory of the day, the missing link, the piece du résistance.
I am thrilled to be asked to write a regular article for Wedding TV. My Land of Cake is full of adventures and triumphs and the occasional obstacle to navigate. These are the things I will report on my blog throughout the coming weeks and if life is predictable and without event then I will post pictures, methods and top tips.
