I am yet to meet a bride who doesn’t want her big day to be perfect. Now the big things may be important but it is definitely the little details, which bring the whole feel of the wedding together. This is especially relevant in your outfit for the day. There are many wedding accessories that you can look into, and if you have a big imposing wedding dress may decide that less is more after all. Others of you may feel you need a little something extra to pull the outfit together, from an alternative to the traditional wedding veil to bling or subdued jewellery.
Luella's Boudoir teaches you how to pick the perfect bridal wedding accessories:
Let’s start at the top, with headpieces. It is traditional for the bride to have something in her hair, either a veil or a tiara, (or both in some cases), but more recently we have seen brides opt for a more modern option. This could be anything from a hair band to a clip, hat or fascinator. There are so many wonderful headpieces available out there whether you’re looking for full on princess effect or just a hint. There is something to fit every theme and every look. The trick to deciding what you want is to look at what you already have. What is your dress like? Is there a reoccurring theme? Is your wedding vintage or modern or completely personal?. When you have figured this out you will be ready to decide how you want your hair. This may limit your options, for example if you want a specific up do, you may not be able to work a veil into the look or the clip you want might not stay in. Fascinators are of course very on trend at the moment, and add an element of glamour to any outfit. Themed weddings are great when it goes to making accessory decisions, how about a flower garland for a natural wedding or a mini top hat for a showbizzy wedding
You should also assess the temperature situation. If you are getting married in winter or outside, will it be cold? Although larger dresses are very handy for keeping the legs warm, your upper half might not be so well looked after. You have many options here, wraps, stoles, cardigans, boleros, and jackets. You can be sure to find a cover up for any an outfit and more importantly any weather. Sasso Bridal have a stunning range of ostrich feather numbers.
Another tip to stave away the cold is a pair of gloves, although these don’t have to necessarily be in preparation for the cold. They are very handy, (excuse the pun), but they could also be chosen just because they look pretty. You can get an assortment of gloves for bridal wear from long satin gloves to short, delicate lace gloves, it all depends on the look you want to achieve. Gloves are particularly great for vintage weddings.
Tights are not the first thing you’ll be thinking of when it comes to the big day, but if you’re having a winter wedding, they could come in very handy. Candy Baker’s Glamour Hosiery is our favourite new designer to offer tights you would be proud to display when you lift you skirts!!
Not quite enough sparkle on your wedding day? A really easy way to incorporate some more is by adding a brooch. It’s such an easy solution and it can really add that final touch to your wedding dress and go anywhere, the best thing about it is it can go on and off with ease.
Does a bride need a bag? Not necessarily, she can get someone to carry her things, after all it is her day! But does she want a bag? Well, that’s a different question. And I say if you want a bag, get a bag. Another thing to think about is having a little purse sewn into the underneath of your dress (this is for fuller dresses with layer obviously) this can be handy way to keep a few pennies just in case and it doesn’t interfere with the look of your outfit. Don’t try keeping an entire purse down there though, its just not going to work.
Oh and last but not least, whatever other accessories you have got, don’t forget the tissues. ♥
